Mr. Metcalfe has over 20 years of experience in the geotechnical engineering industry. Brian graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. and M.S. degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California. He is Chief Engineer at Geopier and responsible for supervision and direction of Geopier's ground improvement engineering services worldwide. Brian has been with Geopier for over 15 years having previously served as its Product Development Engineer and Lead Engineer for Western North America and the Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining Geopier, Brian began his professional career working in the geotechnical consulting industry in the San Francisco Bay Area as a staff and project engineer at Fugro and Kleinfelder, Inc.

He has been engaged in overseeing the geotechnical engineering for thousands of ground improvement projects worldwide, is a co-patentee for ground improvement technology, co-authored multiple papers related to the ground improvement industry, and serves on the ASCE Geo Institute and Deep Foundation Institute Soil Improvement and Ground Improvement committees.

He has been an invited speaker nationally and internationally at geotechnical engineering conference and technical workshops related to the application of ground improvement for foundation support and seismic liquefaction control.
